Beth Hurley Watercolors

As a Watercolor artist, I am drawn to and am inspired by the patterns and beauty I see in nature.    The photograph that became this painting was taken by my sister on Block Island.  If you have not been to Block Island, you are missing a true gem.    This painting won first prize in Watercolor in the June 2022 Framingham Artists Guild Show.    The two most prominent shells are quahogs.  The purple color on the inside is a distinct feature of this beautiful shell.   The Blue shell at the bottom is the outside of a quahog dyed this color by the mud and sea.   I hope this painting helps you smell the sea and feel the sand.

My whole family loves to go to the beach. And New England is the place to do it.
