I would like to  introduce bethhurleywatercolors.com with the Block Island Shells painting.  This painting placed first place at the Framingham Artist Guild show in June of 2022.  The inspiration came from a visit to Block Island, Rhode Island in the Summer of 2019.   The Island is very small and still has a  classic summer vacation feel, with bikes, ice cream and sunscreen being the only things to worry about.    My family grew up in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts and love everything about living by the ocean, even the smell of low tide.  Spending time on Block Island is a treat. The painting focuses on two quahog shells.  The quahog is a family favorite, because it brings back memories of digging for quahogs with our dad.  My sisters and I are proud to carry a shellfish license every Summer in honor of Dad. The original painting can be purchased, as well as, a print and note card version.
