Beth Hurley Watercolors

Watercolor painting has heightened my attention to the beauty around us.  What interests me the most are the patterns and many color variations in nature.

Watercolor Offerings

I offer my watercolor paintings in a few different formats:  original art, prints, cards and watercolor  kits.

Original Art

New Hampshire

We love everything about Zealand Falls in the White Mountains in New Hampshire.   The hike to the falls is a favorite with my whole extended family so we often go as a crowd of 6 or 7 hikers.    We love the bog and the mostly gentle hike up to one of the AMC High Huts.     This is a favorite place to bring my watercolor sketch book.    We love staying at the Zealand Falls AMC Hut and can be found painting, reading and journaling quietly in our bunks. This painting was done from a photograph taken with my phone of the Falls.

Note Cards

Roasted Corn Salad

Roasted Corn Salad is an example of many of my origninal art peices that are available in a note card form.  Roasted Corn Salad is a family favorite.  The taste is sweet and savory.   Enjoy.   The painting is a watercolor with India Ink drawn on top.

Prints

Sea Dragon

My original Watercolor paintings are also available in print form.  The painting featured here in the Sea Dragon.  One of the best things about living in Boston is the New England Aquarium. So many beautiful animals live there.   The Sea Dragons look like they come from another planet.  While my favorites are the jellies, the sea dragons are a close second.

Coloring Kits

Boston scenes, paint your own.

I am blessed to have seen many places, but home is always in Eastern Massachusetts.   I have lived on and off in Boston, went to two different colleges here, and worked in Boston for a long time.    These drawings are from all over Boston.   I take a lot of pictures.   Then some turn into paintings in watercolor and some end up as “color your own” pages.   These pages can be colored with watercolor paints, colored pencils and markers.   My favorite is watercolor pencils.    Have fun with the colors.  I have added the photograph that inspired the drawing, so you have a realistic view of the actual scene but don’t feel limited to that.

Cape Cod scenes, paint your own.

I am blessed to have seen many places, but home is always in Eastern Massachusetts, mostly Boston or Cape Cod.   My family has lived off and on in Bourne for four generations.     These pictures are drawings from sites in Bourne.  They include the Buzzards Bay Railroad Bridge, Monument Beach, Buzzards Bay Town Beach Pier and a window of art-glass items from an antique shop in Buzzards Bay.

Whether or not you have been to Cape Cod, I hope coloring these drawings will bring you good thoughts or memories of hot Summer days, beautiful beaches, and fried clams!!!
